Garage door questions

Straight answers to the questions homeowners ask most. Service-specific questions are on each service page.

Working with us

What areas do you serve?

Our main service areas are Miami, Orlando, Tampa, Jacksonville and Fort Lauderdale. Call with your address to confirm coverage elsewhere in Florida.

Do you give a quote before starting work?

Yes. We explain what we found and what we recommend, and work begins only after you approve.

Do you only work on residential doors?

Yes, this site covers residential garage doors.

Safety

Is it safe to use my door with a broken spring?

No. Leave the door closed and don't run the opener. A door without spring support can fall.

Can I adjust garage door springs myself?

We strongly advise against it. Springs store a lot of energy and can cause serious injury.

My door is crooked. What should I do?

Stop using it, unplug the opener, and keep clear. It may be off track or have a broken cable.

Care & maintenance

How can I make my garage door last longer?

Keep moving parts lubricated with a garage-door-appropriate lubricant, keep the tracks clear, test the safety reverse periodically, and have it serviced when you notice changes.

How do I test the safety reverse?

With the door open, place a soft object like a roll of paper towels where the door will close. The door should reverse on contact or when the sensor beam is broken.
